Christian Wright

I've been a mystery lover for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, I spent countless hours reading everything from Agatha Christie and Nancy Drew to The Hardy Boys, while also watching detective shows and classic sitcoms with my grandparents. Those stories sparked a lifelong fascination with puzzles, clues, and the satisfaction of uncovering the truth.

As I got older, I wanted to give back to the genre that had provided me with so much entertainment throughout my life. That desire eventually led me to write my own mysteries.

My Iris May Mystery series was inspired by my great-aunt, who has always been like a grandmother to me. We spent years watching shows like Bones and The Golden Girls together, and her warmth, resilience, and outlook on life helped shape Iris into the amateur sleuth readers know today.

With my Jonah James Mystery series, I wanted to create the kind of protagonist I rarely encountered growing up: a gay lead at the center of a classic whodunit. Through both series, I strive to write stories that feature diverse and often overlooked characters while never losing sight of the intricate puzzles, fair-play clues, and satisfying solutions that first made me fall in love with mystery fiction.

When I'm not plotting fictional crimes, you'll usually find me reading mystery novels, watching detective shows, spending time with family, or playing video games.
