Curtis Becker

Curtis Becker is in his 4th year teaching at Washburn University. Prior to that, he taught at Emporia State University. Becker also spent 20 years teaching middle and high school. He continues to hold highly qualified licensure from the State of Kansas in English Language Arts and Speech/Theater.

Becker earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in creative writing from Emporia State University and a Master of Art in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. Most recently, he completed a Master of Fine Art in Writing (terminal degree in creative writing) from the University of Nebraska.

Becker is published in Poetry, Creative Nonfiction and Fiction, with anthology, magazine, and lit magazine credits; additionally, his debut book, He Watched and Took Note, was published in 2017 (Meadowlark Books). He is also the editor of Writing from the Center, an annual lit magazine from Kansas Authors Club, the oldest professional writing organization in Kansas.
