Meet T.O. Oveross, a storyteller deeply rooted in the rich history of Pilot Point, Texas, where her family has lived for five generations. With extensive experience teaching children in various subjects for 26 years before retiring, Oveross has spent her career nurturing a love for learning in young minds.
Her journey as a writer began at age 12, inspired by her sixth-grade teacher and the cherished moments spent with Grandma Osburn. A pivotal moment was being chosen to write a high school news column for the local newspaper, igniting her passion for storytelling.
Oveross's latest book is a charming dive into her childhood memories, especially the sweet moments spent watching her grandma make pickles. Her enchanting tales celebrate the irreplaceable bond between grandparents and grandchildren, the joy of cooking, and the wisdom in moderation.
With literary influences like Patricia Polacco and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Oveross weaves her stories with heartfelt nostalgia and timeless lessons. Outside of writing, she enjoys walking her dogs, crocheting, and reading. And here’s a fun twist: she and her three daughters all proudly marched to the beat of their own drum in their high school drum lines.
Graduating in 1992 with a BS in Vocational Home Economics Education from Texas Woman’s University, Oveross brings a unique perspective to her writing. She loves to write under a tree, where the serenity helps her create worlds filled with simple joys and magic. Currently, she’s working on historical fiction for children, bringing the past vividly to life for young readers.
Join T.O. Oveross on a journey to simpler, more magical times through her enchanting stories.
