Thierry Joubert has been writing about Antiquity and its myths for many years. All of his books belong to a single cycle, Les Murmures de Smérix (The Whispers of Smérix). Smérix is an old Celtic shaman who tells, from the Land of the Ancestors, the stories that the centuries have handed down to him.
With L’Odyssée : Le Retour Maudit (The Odyssey: The Cursed Return, 3 volumes) and L’Iliade : Les Cendres de Troie (The Iliad: The Ashes of Troy, 5 volumes), he has taken on a project of rare scope: turning Homer’s work into a great novel without betraying it. These are neither translations nor summaries. They are stories in which you live the adventures of Odysseus, Achilles, Hector and Penelope instead of studying them. The plot, the heroes and the gods remain Homer’s, but they are told as a novel. The Trojan cycle ends with the fall of Troy, drawing on the ancient tales that continued the Iliad.
He is also the author of Athanor: The Legend of the Thunder Eagle, an odyssey set in the 7th century BC among the Celts, the Scythians and the Greeks.
A self-taught and self-published author, he cut back his working hours to devote himself to his work. In all of his books, Nature is a character in its own right.
