Emily Dodsworth

Emily, born in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, UK, later found a new home in Africa, where she embraced her passion for creativity. From a young age, she was always busy with a wide variety of crafts, needlework, and homemaking skills. These hands-on hobbies soon became a cornerstone of her life, and she eagerly passed on this creative spark to her children.

Believing in the value of staying active and that idleness never brings good, Emily encouraged her children to keep their hands and minds busy, even on the rainiest days indoors. Whether they were learning new crafts, creating art, or solving puzzles, she always made sure there was something to fuel their curiosity and creativity.

Emily’s love for crafting, problem-solving, and lifelong learning inspired her to create books that offer others the same opportunities. She now writes and illustrates a range of colouring, activity, and educational books designed for both children and adults.

Through her books, she aims to help others relax, build creative skills, and have fun—whether it’s by learning something new, solving a tricky puzzle, or simply unwinding through a bit of colouring.
