Sean Gallagher

Sean Gallagher is a specialist in Close Protection, Personal Safety, and Self-Defence, with nearly 30 years’ experience as a full-time Close Protection Officer and more than three decades in self-defence, martial arts, and combatives. He is the founder of Avictus Training Ltd, a bespoke personal safety training company operating across the UK and Europe. Through his work, he has trained professional bodyguards, security teams, and local authority staff, and has supported police forces in delivering community-based personal safety programmes.

During his career, Sean has protected high-profile celebrities and senior business executives in demanding environments worldwide. This operational experience underpins his practical, reality-based approach to situational awareness, risk management, and personal safety education.

He has designed and delivered nationally recognised, CPD-certified courses in Self-Defence, Situational Awareness, Personal Safety, and Edged Weapon Awareness. He holds advanced instructor accreditations in Physical Intervention, Conflict Management, and the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA), and is recognised by the National Federation for Personal Safety, BMABA, and the British Combat Association.

Sean is also a registered Close Protection Instructor and holds national awards in Education and Training. He has been inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame for his contribution to personal safety and combatives, and holds diplomas in Fitness and Personal Training.
