Alexandra Laing

Dr. Alexandra Laing is a visionary leader in K-16 education, an innovative change maker, and dreams of an educational system that honors the professionalism of educators and supports the dynamic needs of students in all educational settings.

Alexandra has been a thought leader in education for nearly 20 years and has experience teaching in elementary and secondary classrooms, as a high school administrator, as a district K-12 central office administrator, as a national director with an educational nonprofit, and as a research officer in higher education in a public HBCU. Alexandra has also served in the United States Congress as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, where she authored original legislation and laid the groundwork for the first-ever Women in STEM Senate Caucus.

Alexandra is a subject matter expert in Transformative Educational Leadership, Grading Policies and Practices, Higher Education Research Development and Oversight, Education Legislation and Policy, K-12 STEM, Problem-Based and Project-Based Learning, Student-Centered Learning, Interdisciplinary Curriculum and Professional Development, and Engaging Education and Training. Alexandra has been recognized and highly awarded for her contributions and dedication to education, including being named a Worthy Educator and ASCD Champion in Education, a 2024 Peace Corps Response Volunteer, a 2020 ASCD Emerging Leader, a 2019 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, a 2016 Florida Science Finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, a 2015 Boca Raton Rotary Club Teacher of the Year, and a 2015 J.C. Mitchell Elementary School Teacher of the Year.

Alexandra is currently serving as a Peace Corps Response volunteer in a rising developing country, using her expertise to support their strategic STEAM education country-wide initiatives in PK-16 classrooms.
