I’m an award-winning wildlife photographer, freelance writer, certified naturalist, and children’s author passionate about helping communities - especially young people—understand, appreciate, and coexist with the wildlife around them.
My writing and photography focus on practical ways we can share our communities and landscapes with our wild neighbors. My work has been featured in National Geographic Kids, where I’ve provided tips about wildlife conservation and coexistence, and I’m the author of Harmony Among Neighbors, a children’s book that encourages young readers to see wildlife as neighbors and learn how to share the landscape with them.
My passion for wildlife coexistence began when I was young. After noticing that development was changing the migration patterns of deer in my community and pushing them onto a busy roadway, I became convinced that something needed to be done. I persuaded my town to put up deer crossing signs—a small effort that opened my eyes to the ways our choices can affect wildlife and to the difference one person can make.
Today, I bring that same curiosity and determination to my writing, photography, and storytelling. I’m currently writing a book about wildlife crossings and how thoughtful design can help people and wildlife safely share the landscape. Through stories, observations, and practical ideas, my goal is to help readers of all ages see wildlife not as something separate from our lives, but as neighbors we can learn to live alongside.
