AURELIO BRUNO

AS A LAWYER:

He specializes in administrative law, cultural heritage law, and environmental law. He currently serves as an external consultant for the Sicilian Region. He taught law subjects at LUMSA University in Palermo.

He served for eight years as a legal advisor to the Ministry of Culture and, more recently, to the Ministry of University and Research. Previously, he was Chairman of the Steering Committee for Structural Funds for the Sicily Region and held chief-executive roles within the Province of Catania and public-private entities.

AS A WRITER:

He is passionate about ancient philosophy and ancient cosmology. In recent years, he has published books that—according to some—could help reshape our understanding of Greco-Roman culture by introducing cosmological concepts, including those of Zoroastrian origin, to reinterpret numerous classical texts. In doing so, he has also put forward a revolutionary hypothesis regarding the function of the Pantheon in Rome, while proposing new readings of texts by Parmenides, Empedocles and Plato.

In recent years, he has also dedicated himself to the rediscovery, study, and historiographical appreciation of Mario Lago’s governorship in the Dodecanese, as well as to highlighting the vast eclectic and modernist architectural heritage left there. Finally, under the pseudonym of Paul Devins, he conducted medieval studies alongside the late medievalist Prof. Alessandro Musco of the University of Palermo—specifically regarding the origin, commissioning, and functions of the Argimusco site of stellar statues.
