Deborah Lyon

Hello there! I'm Deb Lyon, author of Timewaif & The Roman Road, the first of The Timewaif Chronicles. My second book, Timewaif & The Viking Journey, comes out on November 28th 2026. They are a series of historical fiction adventures set in Cumbria in the north of England.

I live in (and write about) the stunning Lake District. I have a lovely blended family of five children. We run a holiday let business near Windermere called The Heaning Estate and one in Grasmere called Meadow Brow. I love walking up the fells here and am working hard to complete the famous Wainwrights, 214 mountains described in a series of beautifully illustrated books. We've bagged 187 so far. I'm also the travel, culture and hospitality correspondent for The European magazine.

I've taken a Creative Writing Masters at Lancaster University, and before that a degree in English & French Literature - so it's fair to say books are pretty important to me as I'm sure they are to you.
