Kate Williams

Kate Williams is a well-published children's poet, with numerous contributions to anthologies for household names in publishing, such as Macmillan, Hodder, Oxford University Press, Bloomsbury and Dorling Kindersley.

Brought up in London then Bristol, she moved to south Wales soon after graduating from university (English & Philosophy, Exeter Uni), and believes her warm welcome there and the green, rolling hills inspired her to get writing. Her first efforts were for her own two children, who came up with the bright idea of sending them to a publisher. She hit instant success with the acceptance of 'Liam is Lost', a humorous narrative poem about a disastrous school outing, in Macmillan's School Trips, 1997.

In Squeak! Squeak! Roar! you'll find poems of all shapes and sizes, offering a mix of funny, beautiful, atmospheric and poignant - and quite a few creatures too!
