Remi Kalir

Remi Kalir is a scholar of annotation. He is the author of two books published by MIT Press: "Re/Marks on Power: How Annotation Inscribes History, Literacy, and Justice" (2025) and “Annotation” (2021). His areas of expertise include literacy education, the learning sciences, educational technology, and professional development. He currently serves as Associate Director of Faculty Development and Applied Research with Learning Innovation and Lifetime Education at Duke University. He earned his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a former New York City public school teacher.
