Patty Adams

Patty Adams is a veteran educator and counselor with nearly four decades of experience helping students and families thrive. As a longtime school counselor in small secondary schools—often serving as the only counselor on campus—Patty has worked closely with students navigating academic challenges, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, mental health needs, and the overwhelming path to life after high school.

Her work spans everything from emotional support and academic planning to college prep and scholarship strategies—with a strong emphasis on helping families avoid student loan debt and make smart, sustainable education choices. She holds master’s degrees in both Music Education and School Counseling, blending creative insight with evidence-based strategies to deliver practical, compassionate guidance.

Over the years, Patty has seen firsthand that ADHD doesn’t magically disappear in adulthood. In fact, many of the students she supported grow into adults who continue to face the same executive function struggles—often without a formal diagnosis or the tools they need. This gap can lead to years of frustration, self-doubt, and feeling “behind,” even for the most capable individuals.

Patty believes strongly in helping parents raise capable, independent young adults—not just academically prepared, but emotionally resilient and confident in their own decision-making. Her work encourages parents to release the pressure of perfection and instead focus on building systems and habits that empower both them and their children.

Today, Patty shares her decades of knowledge through relatable, empowering books designed to support both parents of children with ADHD and adults living with it themselves. Her work provides not just understanding, but clear, realistic systems that actually work with ADHD brains.

When she’s not writing or mentoring others, Patty enjoys traveling, staying connected with her two grown sons, and cherishing every moment with her three beloved grandchildren.
