David Schofield

Born in Hong Kong, grew up and educated there until I turned 18 when I came to the UK to go to university. Wrote some of first poems in Hong Kong but none of those survive, which is probably just as well! From early on I have juggled working and writing which has certainly limited my poetry output. Somehow I became an IT whizz kid which definitely surprised the hell out of me but useful for funding my life. I travelled and worked across Europe as well as the UK. As I became more successful in my work, the less quality time I had for poetry. I managed to not to lose my dream of being a poet and now we have my first self-curated set of poems from 50 years of writing from 1974 to date. Poems in a Bottle is a journey through 5 decades of writing poetry and sharpening my skills as a poet.
