Jake Johnson is the author of the Southern thriller *Southern Heat: The Sound of Silence*.

Jake’s journey into fiction was born out of unexpected downtime. Following a corporate layoff, an autoimmune condition temporarily sidelined his hands from his favorite hobby: repairing and modifying vintage mechanical watches. Unable to tinker with microscopic gears, he redirected that same meticulous focus toward the intricate mechanics of storytelling.

Though he has since returned to work full-time—which has inevitably slowed his writing pace down a bit—his passion for this story remains strong. Jake invites readers to join him on this journey as he brings his deep love of East Texas, country music, and good food to the page.

When he isn’t working his day job or plotting the next chapter, Jake is a proud dad to four great kids, husband to a wife who far outclasses him, and part-owner of the dumbest dog in town, Sir Winston Pom Pom.
