Fred Bear

Fred Bear was born in Glendale California in 1949, second born of four children. He moved to Idaho in 1972 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Outdoor Parks and Recreation Administration from Arizona State University. He retired in 2006 as a Park Manager from Idaho State Parks and Recreation. His career spanned 34 years beginning in 1972 as an Assistant Park Manager. Part of his duties required him to serve as a park Ranger where he enforced laws protecting the park, people and wildlife. He was able to fulfill his love of nature by serving and enhancing environmental appreciation, creating interpretative programming for several parks.

His belief that Love is Life has been his constant affirmation declared from his teenage years. His passion to help others has been his mantra. He loves tinkering and fixing any object, from small pottery to restoring cars. His enjoyment creates the perfection in whatever he touches.

He loves music and collecting antiques, restoring Victorian lighting, especially owl design, again reflecting his love for nature.

His first book “Love Is Life, An Unexpected Journey”, depicts his love for his heavenly wife of 54 years, containing a beautiful manuscript of poems. With an open and sharing heart he hopes others, who have lost a loved one, will benefit from his caring words in this book.

He has one daughter, Michele, a son in law, Cory, stepson Brandon and one blood granddaughter Icesis. He also has two step grandchildren. Family, friends and pets have always been paramount. He continues to show love and compassion, cherishing each moment he spends with all.

He embraces new adventures and love which carry him through his journey in life.
