David Pullan is a leadership communication consultant and recovering actor who helps leaders add feelings to their facts and turn information into inspiration.
With Sarah Jane McKechnie he created The DNA of Engagement®, a story-based framework for building trust and leading change that has been tried and tested inside the FTSE100, with teams at companies including Aviva. He is the co-author of two books on engagement, one of which was a finalist for Business Book of the Year 2025, and is a keynote speaker on combining AI with emotional intelligence.
Before consulting, David spent 25 years as a professional actor. He trained at NIDA in Sydney, Australia and performed with the RSC and in the West End, which is where he learned the thing he now teaches. An audience gives you nothing for free. You earn attention or you lose it, and the difference is craft.
He now lives in the UK and is a lifelong supporter of Arsenal, which has taught him more about maintaining hope and resilience through change than any business book.
