Author Bio: Barbara Gold.
My writing is inspired by my love of nature and the countryside. I have lived in the Scottish Borders since I980, surrounded by wonderful scenery, hill farms and of course lots of sheep. I taught in primary and special education but changed careers and worked in day services for adults with disabilities. I have always wanted to write, so took part in a series of writing workshops; joined several writing groups and have had poetry and short stories published in the Eildon Tree Magazine and other anthologies. I became bored in reading city based books and set out to write the book I wanted to read, resulting in my debut novel, Comfort of the Hills. During lockdown I was able to research the life and work of local poet, Will H Ogilvie, better known as a wandering station hand and bush poet, whose work forms a link between the Scottish Borders and Australia.
