Prudence Carter

Prudence Carter has spent her life caring for and educating young children. She studied Early Childhood Education and has gained practical experience throughout her life, starting with babysitting as a pre-teen and continuing as she raised her own children. Prudence has worked in church nurseries and helped start a public daycare center, by writing grants to get it up and running.

She has served on several boards focused on child education and safety. Prudence has also taught parenting classes like “Love and Logic” and led a program called the "Fatherhood Initiative" to help keep fathers involved in their children's lives. She supervised the program for several years while also counseling single mothers and mentoring new moms.

With a strong love for early literacy, she has helped many children learn to read before they even started kindergarten. Prudence lives with her supportive husband in rural Colorado. Their grown children and grandchildren live in Colorado, Oregon, Florida, and Japan. Prudence collaborates with her daughter, who illustrates her books, to create fun and engaging stories for children.
