Ryan Rice

Ryan S. Rice, CPT/OES, is the founder of MoveLab and the author of Strong After 50, a practical training system for building muscle, reducing fat, and protecting joint resilience in midlife and beyond. With more than three decades in the health and fitness field, Ryan has coached a wide spectrum of clients—from high-performance military and law enforcement professionals who needed composure under pressure to individuals rebuilding their bodies after injury, chronic pain, or years of inactivity.

Ryan’s approach is defined by one core belief: training must be intelligent enough to earn adherence. That means programs must be structured, adaptable, and goal-oriented—delivering small, meaningful wins (mobility gains, strength markers, pain reduction, stamina improvements) while staying aligned with long-term outcomes. MoveLab’s methodology emphasizes intentional movement, controlled loading, and progressive strength development designed to reduce compensation patterns and keep the body advancing—not merely surviving.

When he isn’t coaching or writing, Ryan is developing MoveLab education resources that translate exercise science into clear, actionable steps for everyday people—especially those who feel like “standard” fitness advice stopped working somewhere along the way.

Ryan currently resides in Winston-Salem working as a senior fitness specialist and health coach alongside his loving partner Dr. Jennifer Fernandez.
