Shane Connery Volk

Shane Connery Volk is the lead singer and songwriter for Canadian rock band One Bad Son (OBS). Over the last 20 years, his commanding stage presence and soaring vocal range have captivated fans, and cemented Volk’s status as an elite rock ‘n’ roll frontman. OBS has toured with Def Leppard, Judas Priest, and Shinedown, among many others, and landed a coveted spot on the only Canadian stop of the 2019 Rolling Stones tour. Along with years of successful touring, the band has scored six top 10 hits on Canadian rock radio, with its single “Raging Bull” holding the #1 spot for four weeks. One Bad Son released their first new music in almost a decade with their EP “The New Shit” on Sept. 20th, 2024. Volk also released his first solo track “Shiver” on Oct. 22, 2021.

In embracing the full spectrum of his art, Volk has embarked on a career as a professional comic book artist and writer. His first series as an illustrator is the medieval noir "Nottingham" with Florida publisher Mad Cave Studios. The five-issue series has become a surprise hit, shattering all of the company’s previous sales records, with each book receiving multiple printings. The success of Nottingham has led to a second 5 issue volume titled Nottingham: A King’s Ransom, and a third and final volume Nottingham: The Final Tithe. With the success of Nottingham, Volk secured a contract with Mad Cave Studios to publish his first creator-owned series "Prairie Gods". In addition to art, Volk is writing and colouring all 5 issues. The first book Prairie Gods: Race the Devil, was released across North America on Sept. 5, 2024, with the collected edition trade paperback being released June 10, 2025.

In addition to music and art, Volk has always had a love of acting and film. Volk studied Drama at the UofA and enrolled in acting classes before music became his focus. Now with music and art in full swing, he is re-focusing on film as well. Volk has appeared in independent and mainstream film and television and continues to hone his craft in all areas of art and the creative process.
