Aaron Morell grew up in a remote corner of Western Kansas, seventy miles from the nearest highway. The isolation sparked a fascination with the world beyond the plains. Inspired by Thoreau’s call to live deliberately, he set out to explore the country and its countless stories, living in Colorado, Kansas City, Portland, Chicago, and now New York City. In his writing, he combines a rural sensibility with the vividness of urban life, crafting stories that seek the profound in the everyday. Aaron’s work is driven by a curiosity about people and places, rooted in both the landscapes of his youth and the complexities of the cities he’s come to know.
