Originally from the UK where I worked in London for several years, I am now living and working as a Producer and a Writer at a video game studio in Tampere, Finland.
When I am not attempting to push my macabre thoughts and ideas into the games I work on I am being a dad, reading, and working on my next novel, a dark fantasy horror novel set in a remote town close to the Arctic Circle.
My first publication, The Dial drew inspiration from the wide variety of old science fiction and horror short stories I read in my late teens and early twenties. My latest work, The Edge of the Shallow Green Sea, is my first attempt at a full-length novel and a vessel into which I poured my thoughts and ideas around human beings' best and worst attributes and how they overcome them.
I am constantly preoccupied with two things in my writing; the first is that the setting must be a character with its own quirks, depths, moods, and secrets. This elevates the story, in my opinion, and I always endeavor to make a point of this in my writing. The second is that I always try to add a part of myself to every character I write. This makes them feel more authentic and helps me understand their thoughts, feelings, and choices better.
