JASON CROOT

Jason Croot is a writer, actor and filmmaker from Bradford, with a career in film and theatre spanning more than two decades.

In recent years, Jason has increasingly focused on writing.

In 2025, he published Bradford, Eh?, a nostalgic look back at Bradford during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The book features a foreword by singer Tasmin Archer and an afterword by former Scotland and Bradford City footballer and manager Stuart McCall. Jason also appeared at Bradford Literature Festival with the book, sharing memories of Bradford and life growing up in the city.

In 2026, he published Bradford, Ye What?, bringing together the memories of 21 Bradfordians, covering nostalgia from the 1940s through to the 1990s. The book features a foreword by Tim Hogarth and an afterword by Tasmin Archer.

His third book, Bradford or Leeds, Eh? Valley Parade, Elland Road, and Back Again, was also published in 2026. The book looks back at football during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, combining memories of Bradford City, Leeds United and football culture more widely, including terraces, supporters, banter, friendships and everyday life around the game. It features a foreword by former Bradford City defender Peter Jackson and an afterword by former Leeds United defender Noel Blake. Contributions come from people connected with Bradford City, Leeds United and beyond.

Jason continues to write about Yorkshire, nostalgia, life and the memories that connect people with places and their past.
