Coach Mike McDonnell has dedicated a lifetime to coaching basketball in the NYC metro area as a WNBA Scout, College assistant coach and Varsity Boys Head Coach with over 300 wins. Coach McDonnell's goal is to help coaches be their very best by sharing the knowledge he has gained in this rich coaching NY & NJ area area of the country. In the early 2000's Coach Mac coached at the premier AAU program in NYC: The Gauchos located in the shadows of Yankees Stadium. With coaching stints at Hostos CC in the Bronx and Medgar Evers in Brooklyn, Coach Mac returned to the suburbs of Westchester, NY transforming a CHSAA program in Sacred Heart HS of Yonkers NY. With successful experiences at CYO, AAU, High School and College, Coach Mac's books address the needs of coaches and players from middle school through high school. His brother Dan McDonnell, is the head coach of the University of Louisville baseball and coaching is imbued in their DNA. 101 Winning Basketball Concepts & Strategies published in October, 2023 is dedicated to the HABITS and ACTIONS which makes players champions and the coaches who need to emphasize those 101 HABITS of good play as opposed to concentrating on sets and plays.
