Okwudili Nebeolisa

Okwudili Nebeolisa was born in Kaduna, Nigeria. He is the author of Terminal Maladies, winner of the Center for African American Poetry and Poetics Prize, and a finalist for the Hurston/ Wright Legacy Award and the Lambda Award for Gay Poetry. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop, where he was a Provost Fellow and won the Prairie Lights Prize for Fiction. He is currently an MFA student in fiction at the University of Minnesota, where he won the Gesell Award for Excellence in Poetry. His poems have appeared in Image, New England Review, POETRY, Sewanee Review, Shenandoah, and Threepenny Review. He is a recipient of grants and support from The Elizabeth George Foundation, the Granum Foundation, and the Center for the Arts Crested Butte.
