Amit Khandelwal

I’m Amit Khandelwal, a Principal Product Manager at Microsoft with over 15 years of experience in the technology industry. My journey at Microsoft began as an intern, evolving through roles such as Support Engineer, Technical Lead, Support Escalation Engineer, and Premier Field Engineer. Along the way, I’ve played a pivotal role in the development and evolution of SQL Server on Linux, significantly contributing to Microsoft's cross-platform solutions.

Throughout my career, I've designed resilient production environments for applications and supported SQL Server workloads across various environments. My efforts have successfully integrated SQL Server into new platforms, growing its market share and adoption. I’m committed to customer satisfaction and take pride in building and nurturing partnerships, driving product strategy, and ensuring the successful deployment of SQL Server at scale.

I’ve had the privilege of presenting at numerous conferences, sharing my insights and expertise with the broader technology community. Some of my notable presentations include sessions at DevDays Asia (Taipei), SQL BITS (London), PASS Data Community Summit (Seattle), Red Hat Summit, SUSECON, internal Microsoft events, Bangalore UG group, Data Exposed, and DataMinds.

On a personal front, I am married to my beautiful wife, Swati Ameriya, who has been my pillar of support and inspiration throughout my journey. We are blessed with two lovely daughters, Shivi and Praavi. They bring immense joy and energy into our lives, keeping us on our toes and filling our home with laughter. In my free time, I love spending quality moments with my family, whether it’s through fun outdoor activities or simply enjoying a cozy evening together.
