Born in West Virginia, raised in North Carolina, I graduated high school and joined the Army at 17. 28 years later, I retired after serving tours in Macedonia, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq and other locations around the world. After leaving service, I spent 15 years in manufacturing supporting the pharmaceutical industry. I achieved my goal of reaching Vice President/General Manager before taking an early retirement to settle down with my wife in Texas.
As a teen, I was hooked on fantasy (SCI-FI and Swords and Sorcery). Reading was an opportunity to separate myself from the rigors of reality and exploring the endless possibilities the imagination of others provided. My careers required I read for education and personal development, fantasy was simply pleasure. Writing a story of my own was a personal challenge on my bucket list that I now have the time to pursue. Success or not, the stories will be written.
