Robin Lapre is a physician who took up volunteering at animal shelters as a hobby, and found herself hooked on helping animals! After years of volunteering, Robin became convinced that we needed more practical community education on responsible pet ownership.
"Doggie Do's and Don'ts as Told by Cadence the Dog" is comprehensive in content, and has been presented to thousands of students through public speaking engagements and book donations. Great for grades 2-6.
Her second book, "Two Frisky Kittens: How to Count High Real Quick!" is a fun rhyming book with important lessons about what happens when we don't alter our cats. Readers will learn a bit about community cats as well. The math problems and concept of spay neuter make this a great choice for grades 5-8.
"I Like Kibble and So Much More!" takes a look at safe and healthy food choices for dogs. It's geared for our youngest readers PreK-2nd grade, but contains teaching points for all ages.
"I Lost My Cat! Now What?" provides lots of practical information about what to do if your cat goes missing. The story weaves in themes of responsible pet ownership including the importance of microchip, spay/neuter and vaccinations. Kids will forever remember all the steps to take if their cat or dog goes missing. Great content for Grades 1-3.
"What Do All Dogs Need to Drink?" was written in response to the high demand for books on responsible pet care for young readers. This is a fun rhyming story with important messages about water, for PreK-1st grade. There's much more to it than you think!
Her latest book, "Dogs Need Shelter, Yes They Do!" was written to complete the mini-collection of books on basic needs: food, water, and shelter. This is an important book that describes what makes a good shelter, both in cold weather and hot weather, indoors and out! Shout out to the feral cats, too! Great for grades K-2.
The hallmark of Robin's books is that they are fun and easy to read, yet the content is filled with actionable advice so that everyone can become knowledgeable pet owners. These books have been shared with thousands of students across Middle Tennessee and beyond!
