After chasing degrees and career ambitions, Jamie settled down to focus on her greatest adventure—homeschooling three young children with Efrain, her college sweetheart and husband of then 15 years. When Jamie was at the park on a clear, brisk day in 2007, she was exploring a drainage pipe that seemed to go nowhere—and the idea for Havilah’s Gold was born. Thus began a new journey through years of writing in snippets of time between school hours and dinnertime, drum lessons, piano lessons, karate classes, birthdays, graduations, and weddings—until hobby gave way to calling. Jamie and Efrain live in northern Texas near their grown children. They both serve on staff at their local church where they also lead a young adult group. Jamie enjoys good coffee, great books, enough conversation to satisfy a committed introvert, and escaping to the mountains as often as possible.
