Heather Anderson is a pharmacist, former military spouse, and passionate book author who believes in the power of stories to help kids grow into confident, kind and emotionally aware individuals. She grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and spent years moving around the country with her family, meeting and learning from the incredible people in the military community.
After being diagnosed with late-onset type 1 diabetes, Heather got a diabetic alert service dog--an experience that introduced her to a breeder and trainer who became a close friend. Being present for the birth and early life of multiple litters of Springer Spaniel puppies sparked the idea for a picture book series that celebrates each puppy's personality through life lessons for kids.
Her debut book, Finn Finds Confidence, tells the story of sweet puppy who learns to embrace what makes him unique. It's the first in a series of heartwarming, beautifully illustrated books that explore themes like patience, empathy, courage, and manners--each inspired by a real puppy and designed to encourage emotional growth in young readers.
When Heather isn't writing, she loves reading across all genres, spending time with her service dog, and sharing joy through stories. She hopes each book helps kids feel seen, supported, and a little more confident in who they are.
