Michael Rider

My formative years were informally spent in Detroit, Chicago, and New York City. I ran away from Chicago to join the Shakespearean Circus - JUILLIARD DRAMA, group IV in 1971. Although I worked as a pro actor in the theatre and on screen, my most memorable adventures came from the other side of life; the things I had to do to survive between gigs. My grandmother was a college educated woman, a rarity for her generation, who nurtured my early discovery of literature, so I must include Syble as an influence, along with Baudelaire, Jim Morrison, Edward Oxenford, and Sergio Leone.

These days I'm usually somewhere in the mountains of California, 'following a path, any path, that has heart.' "There are places only magic can take you, destinations only mystery knows. I do not know just where that is, but I know that's where we're gonna go." See ye there.
