Gregory O'Neill

Greg O’Neill is the author of the Declan Finney thriller series, set in Bangkok and the borderlands of Southeast Asia.

He has lived and worked across the region since the early 1990s, spending much of that time based in Thailand. His experience has taken him beyond the surface—working in education, engaging with local communities, and observing firsthand the complex realities of cross-border crime, corruption, and the informal systems that operate alongside official power.

Fluent in Thai and familiar with the languages and cultures of the region, O’Neill writes with an insider’s understanding of the environments his characters move through—from the streets of Bangkok to the lawless edges of the Golden Triangle.

He divides his time between Thailand and Australia.
