Pete was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He lives now in Sudbury, Massachusetts with his wife and three children. In addition to the novel Each Hath a Hand, Pete is working on a history of the battle for the Fortress Louisburg in 1745, as well as his second novel, Down Greylock, about the experiences of a misplaced Army engineer in the South Pacific during World War II.
Pete began his career on the Capitol Hill staff of the late Massachusetts Congressman Silvio O. Conte. Later, Pete worked in the Massachusetts State Senate and Executive Office of Education before being appointed by Governor Paul Cellucci as head of his western Massachusetts office. Pete then served in a number of economic development positions in state government before leading such operations for MassBio and as executive director at the MassBioEd Foundation and MassEcon. Pete holds a BA in History and International Relations from Boston University and an MA in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. When his children were younger, he coached youth hockey and baseball.
