Madia Smith

Madia is an author of birds and mystical things. She enjoys bringing together the practical, tangible world and the animate, spiritual one through nature, myth, and imagination. Once a die-hard city girl and world traveler addicted to the buzz of human movement, she curiously found herself enjoying vast, starry skies in the high desert of the four corners region. Unwittingly becoming an “orchardess,” goose girl, and a mother, she is relearning the art of wonderment through close connection with the land, animals, and family. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, where she studied both economics and vocal performance.
