Peter Barron

Peter Barron is an award-winning former TV journalist and communications executive who, since leaving corporate life, has devoted much of his time to exploring and writing about Spain. He and his wife Julia own a finca in the oak-dotted dehesa of Extremadura, on the border with Andalucía, where they have converted an old barn into a home. Peter has been visiting Spain for nearly 40 years and is passionate about its landscapes, traditions, and culture—from Ibérico ham and manzanilla sherry to flamenco guitar. A contributor to Frommer’s Spain since 2018, he writes regularly about rural life in Spain in the British press and on his blog, Adventures in Extremadura. He divides his time between Fuentes de León and London.
