Throughout my journey, I've worn many hats, each shaping my identity and fueling my passion for storytelling. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in music from Long Beach State, I embarked on a musical journey across continents and stages, co-writing a musical performed throughout Los Angeles.
In 1988, I proudly represented the Laguna LGBTQIA+ community on the volleyball court at the North American Gay Volleyball Association Championships in Montreal. I later competed in the Vancouver 1989 International Gay and Lesbian Aquatic Championships, bringing home 1st place in water polo. Inspired by my love for sports and community, I founded the Orange Juice Aquatics gay swim team in Laguna Beach, California, where I swam and coached our team to success at the Gay Games in 1994.
As my career evolved, I delved into the worlds of music, web publishing, photography, and graphic arts, earning a Web Publishing degree in Chicago. I've lent my creative talents to diverse industries, from chiropractic to serving as the Director of Marketing and Design at Austin Rare Coins & Bullion.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I've remained deeply committed to advocacy and support for the LGBTQIA+ community and those affected by HIV/AIDS. I volunteered as an AIDS support buddy, offering companionship and assistance to individuals and families facing the disease. Additionally, I spearheaded a Christmas Gift Basket program for AIDS patients and individuals with life-threatening illnesses through Laguna Shanti, aiming to bring joy and comfort to those in need during the holiday season.
As I embrace my newest role as a writer, I draw upon the rich tapestry of my experiences to craft stories that celebrate the resilience, diversity, and compassion of the LGBTQIA+ community. Through my writing, I aim to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and spark meaningful conversations about the human experience.
