B. D. "Bob" Faw

B. D. Bob Faw is a combat veteran, prize-winning poet, and scholar whose diverse career spans writing, technology, and public service. He has worked as a corporate CEO, electronics engineer, teacher, actor, director, and media producer, earning recognition for his contributions in each field.

His award-winning poetry has been read into the Congressional Record, made into TV videos, and embedded in a freeway time capsule. His work has been widely published in newspapers, magazines, online platforms, and anthologies.

In the tech world, Bob designed and built the remote job entry system for Martin Marietta’s space shuttle design project. Additionally, he created the high-speed printer that Avery Label used to produce the original UPS Red and Blue Label shipping tags. He founded and ran three technology companies over the course of a 25-year career.

After retiring from the tech industry, Bob transitioned to education, teaching mathematics, computer literacy, and video production at Martin Luther King Middle School in San Bernardino, California. He also dedicated over a decade to public service through Rotary International, where he became a Paul Harris fellow, mentored high school students, and led team-building weekends.

An accomplished actor and director, Bob has starred in numerous stage productions, receiving a commendation from the Kennedy Center for his performance in To Kill a Mockingbird. He has also hosted and produced radio and television programs, including The Abstract View, The Happy Hour, and Faultline—a student-created TV show at California State University, San Bernardino.

His writing credits include the lyric poems “The Alabaster Mermaid,” which won first prize in an international poetry contest, and “Night Terrors,” which won first prize in the Writeway Darkness contest. His collection of lyric love poetry, Cycles of Love, reflects his lifelong exploration of the cyclical nature of love and romance.

In 1996, Bob founded one of the internet's earliest and most active writer's critique and discussion groups, and moderated it for over a decade.

Currently, Bob is working on a science fiction novel Serendipity; his memoir; and a collection of essays, short stories, and poetry. His lifelong commitment to creativity remains unwavering, as he continues to explore new avenues of storytelling.
