Shantell Powell

Shantell Powell is a swamp hag and elder goth raised on the land and off the grid all over Canada. She’s a graduate of the Writers’ Studio at Simon Fraser University, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the LET(s) Lead programme at Yale University, and the LGBTQ+ Novel Immersive at GrubStreet. A Brave New Weird winner, Pushcart/Best of the Net/Journey nominee, and Aurora finalist, her writing appears in magazines and anthologies, including Augur Magazine, The Deadlands, SolarPunk Magazine, and more.
