Jay Spenser

I’m a professional writer in Seattle who’s written fifteen books and hundreds of feature articles. I've won writing awards at the national and international level. In the early 2020s, for example, two books of mine garnered 1st Place Blue Ribbons from the Chanticleer International Book Awards' Gertrude Warner Awards for Middle Grade Readers (ages 8-12).

I was a curator of aviation at the National Air and Space Museum / Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, DC, and the curator of the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. More recently, I spent over two decades as a writer and communications professional with The Boeing Company. Now on my third career, I'm pursuing my love of fiction by writing screenplays and novels. I recently published my first historical novel and two children's mystery books for readers 8 to 12 years old.
