A child at heart, I hope my books and illustrations inspire young minds to:
dream,
create,
and to flourish.
Originally from California, I earned a degree from UC Berkeley in Mass Communication and Sociology. After graduating, and with grad school looming over me, I had to do some soul-searching about who I truly wanted to become. I came to a clear decision- I was an artist!
I submitted a small portfolio of my work to the prestigious Academy of Art University in San Francisco and from thousands of other candidates I was chosen to receive a special scholarship to attend classes. I was over the moon! During my time there I learned more about myself as an artist and my interest in varying forms of creativity. I was very intrigued by fashion design, computer graphics, and traditional cartooning. I found such enlightenment surrounded by fellow artists in life-drawing classes and I was truly awed by the talent around me.
I’ve held various creative jobs during my career such as sole artist of a large greeting card company, window designer and visual manager for Macy’s flagship store in Union Sq., lead artist of gaming companies, as well as producing my own books and brand.
I’ve always had a can-do attitude, a smile on my face, and a pep in my step.
I’m hoping my books will help my own children as well as other people see the beauty of this world, the power of a vivid imagination, and the gumption it takes to follow ones dreams.
