Nik Berg

Nik Berg has been a motoring writer for almost as long as he’s been driving, with a career that began on Auto Express magazine while he was still a teen.

Nik helped drive the BBC’s Top Gear from the TV screen to the newsstand, occasionally donning The Stig suit in the process, has written for a wide variety of lifestyle titles, newspapers and websites, and is currently Hagerty’s European Correspondent. Nik also co-authored the car trivia title Top Gear Motor Mania with his dad Ivan.

Nik is at his happiest when behind the wheel, whether that’s playing at being James Bond in his classic Lotus Esprit or playing at being a racing driver in the real-life EnduroKA series and online in the virtual world of GranTurismo.

With many years of road tripping under his wheels Nik founded Detour to become the go-to website for road trip inspiration and information.
