I began writing seriously in 2019 when I took early retirement. My interest in writing came partly from my own reading but also from the experience of teaching others about reading, writing and understanding the written word. Relationships are at the heart of my writing and drive the plot.

The inspiration for my first novel, “Listen To Mother”, came initially from a trip to Florence in 2011. However, the main inspiration was the desire for others to experience the world from the viewpoint of someone with high functioning autism whose struggles with the reality of life result in his joining a world in the shadows.

The sequel to this first novel will be published soon. “Broken” sees DCI Gianfranco Valdi solving new crimes in the beautiful city of Florence. This new case reveals truths that threaten reputations, loyalties and long held powers.

I am fortunate to live in the beautiful countryside of Perthshire inScotland with my husband Ian.
