Alex Franklyn

Alex Franklyn is a British author she has worked for over thirty years in nearly every health and social care setting, she's also worked on independent movies as a writer, filmmaker and actor. She has always had a love of stories and has particular interest in science fiction, horror and fantasy in whatever format available. Alex is a proud geek and not ashamed to admit it with a love for computer games and graphic novels.

She has always been interested in what motivates people, to understand why people do what they do which she has studied for decades. This features strongly in the books she writes be that her fiction novels or her new set of non-fiction self-help books. Exploring the recesses of the mind to be able to present stories that provide reasons for our actions. This has impacted her style of writing and pushes character led stories. Because in Alex's mind, stories come from the choices we make and frequently we all make ill informed ones, which always makes for interesting reading.

Alex likes stories that have depth and complexity, working on many levels that ask questions and are never quite as clear cut as they may seem, rather like people. She likes to present morally grey/complex characters, you get an initial sense of who they are but knows we all have secrets and undiscovered possibilities. Her love of discovery is felt as each story unfolds with endings you may not expect unless you notice the hints and suggestions earlier...
