Robyn Cotton

Robyn Cotton is a Kiwi living in New Zealand. After a career as a business professional, she discovered her love for creative writing. She draws on personal experience to add colour and depth to her novels.

A Skylark Flies is her first novel and is the story of a young woman who is assaulted by a stranger. It explores how the incident impacts each of their lives, demonstrating the power of forgiveness.

Mary and Me is her second novel and is a story about Parkinson's disease. It takes the reader on a journey from despair at diagnosis to resilience and hope. It also compares life with this debilitating disease today to how it was 200 years ago. Robyn has her own diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson's disease and exposes her own experience through the character Rose.

The Jibe is Robyn's third novel and is her first crime novel. It has a sailing theme, and the detective hero is in the Maritime Police Unit. An avid sailor herself, Robyn draws on her knowledge of sailing in the Hauraki Gulf to bring the story to life.

Watch this space! After requests from readers for a follow-up to The Jibe, her characters Frank and Anahera have a new case. With the manuscript now finished, Robyn is planning to launch it in 2025.
