My interest in animals started when I was a young boy. My mother always kept exotic animals as well as your typical pets, our house was full of animals, it was great.

The most simplest way of putting it is, I fell in love with them. All animals great and small I was enchanted by them.

So much so, I moved to South Africa to work on a wildlife sanctuary. I cared for many different species, from lions to elephants, Impala to the mighty giraffe. Wildebeest to zebra, hyenas to cows and even chickens.

I love Chickens, they are a funny animal and of course they produce lovely eggs. So I decided, when I moved back to the UK I would start keeping chickens and boy, don't I enjoy it. However, what I found was despite what I had learnt in South Africa there was a lot more to learn and that comes with time and experience. Something I've worked hard to gain over the years.

This is the reason why I decided to write a book, to help new chicken keepers and existing chicken keepers.

To put it simply, my book covers everything that you will face as a back garden chicken keeper. It will cover each topics step by step, to guide you through it all, so you can deal with any situation With confidence.
