Dick Reese

Engineer by training, storyteller by birth, and farmer by happenstance, the author was well placed to chronicle the Reese family's emigration from city life in the western US to country life on Australia's wet, wild, and remote island state of Tasmania. During their fifteen-year adventure, Dick kept a journal, hoping that someday he would have the time and opportunity to tell their story. "Don't Forget to Cover the Pig - Finding Ourselves in Tasmania - A Memoir" is the result.

Taking a hiatus from his day job to tend to his wife, Ruth, while she recovered from a horse-riding accident, he won a short story competition, spurring him on to create several draft novels, short stories, and screenplays that are now in the publication pipeline.

The first fruit of that labor is the recently published "The Benevolent Reaper," an urban supernatural fantasy with sci-fi overtones about a retired salesman's second shot at life and love.

The next book with the working title "Phibs" is slated for release by mid-2027.

Dick and Ruth currently live a citified life in Rocklin, California, with Frodo, Dick's Chiweenie writing companion.
