Paul Baker

Paul Lawrence Baker has an extremely diverse background. He served ten years as an Office in the US Navy. During the Vietnam War he had two had two tours: One tour as Damage Control Officer on the Gun Line during Tet 1968, and the second as Cambodian Analyst for COMNAVFORV (Admiral Zumwalt). During his second Vietnam tour, he interacted with Prince Norodom Sihanouk as the US reestablished diplomatic relations with Cambodia. Later during his tour of duty, Prince Sihanouk was overthrown by General Lon Nol who facilitated the Cambodian Border Incursion. Protests in the US resulted in the Kent State Massacre.

With his PhD, Dr. Baker was a Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Livingstone College and Catawba College for nearly a half century. His technical and scientific education has enabled him to write and edit books in topology, geometry, linear algebra, liberal arts, mathematics and statistics.

Dr. Baker also earned a Masters of Divinity, resulting in three one-year devotions in John, Psalms and Proverbs respectively and a translation and amplification book on Philippians. Three mission trips to the Dominican Republic, ten missions to Russia and fourteen missions to Cambodia have provided inspiration behind eight other novels. He has also edited six books for friends.
