Amanda Widdowson

I'm a human factors practitioner by trade. I've been working in that field for approximately 30 years so have collected a few awards along the way. I'm a former President of the UK professional body: the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and Head of human factors capability at a large multi-national organisation. I became interested in the relationship between human factors and cybersecurity in 2015, when I heard cybersecurity professionals using terms like "sociotechnical" and I realised the discipline of human factors had a lot to offer. I created and applied an approach, wrote and spoke on the subject, and was later contacted by a publisher about writing a book. I lived in London UK for many years after attending University there, before moving to the Hampshire countryside and adopting a couple of dogs.
