With nearly 30 years of hands-on IT experience and a Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Mark Smith is an expert at the intersection of technology and education. He is the founder of a successful IT business and has spent over a decade as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor, where he established the Cisco, CompTIA, and Red Hat academies for his school district.
As an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems and an advisory board member for both Red Hat Academy and the Instructional Technology program at California State University, San Bernardino, Mark is dedicated to designing curriculum that is both relevant and accessible. He currently teaches a range of certification courses, including CompTIA A+, CCNA, and Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). His passion for education is evident in his coaching of a nationally-ranked high school cybersecurity team and his extensive list of certifications, including CompTIA Network+; CompTIA A+; CompTIA ITF+; Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) IT Support, Networking, and Cybersecurity; and numerous instructor-level credentials. His books are a direct reflection of his proven ability to help students master complex subjects and achieve their career goals.
